Our Minister
Serving as the Minister of UUCF is a welcome opportunity for me to much more robustly practice the multi-faith spiritual path that I have been walking for some time. Although my history has been with liberal Christianity, my reading, preaching, and spiritual practices have drawn from the fullness of the world's religious traditions for many years. I believe in practice, not just in theory, that each of the world's major religious and humanist traditions are equally legitimate paths for producing healthy, ethical, and responsible human beings.
My wife Magin was raised in the Reform Jewish tradition, and some of our friends found it curious that despite my position as a full-time Christian minister, we chose to have a Jewish wedding at Temple Oheb Shalom in Baltimore in 2007. In contrast, I anticipate that most Unitarian Universalists would find our reasoning much more sound. We feel that Unitarian Universalism is the religious tradition in which we can most authentically be together as a family and in which we hope to raise our future children.
